Coco is a sweet girl who was originally turned into the local shelter, all the whilst being flicked in the nose by the person who turned her in. We were contacted by the shelter manager who was very concerned about Coco because she was becoming distressed in the shelter. Coco was placed in a loving home 4 yrs ago, and all was well until we received a phone call that she had turned in to a shelter near where she had been adopted. It was hard to believe that this could happen, and we felt certain that there must be some mix-up. But sadly, the shelter manager confirmed that the owner's son had turned Coco into the shelter.
Our collective hearts dropped, because we knew how devoted the mother-daughter team that had adopted Coco was, so surely, something was terribly wrong. Upon more investigation, we confirmed the distressing news that Coco's younger adopter had succumbed to a terminal illness, and her mother had to be placed in a nursing home and was not well at all herself. With great sadness, but always committed to those who come into our hearts and homes while waiting for their forever family, we quickly claimed Coco. Always a girl who had to warm up to strangers, but forever a friend when she does, it was clear that Coco was grieving her sudden and tragic loss. With time and love, she has returned to her spunky self. Coco is most comfortable in home settings, and once settled in, bond strongly with her family. So, when she does attend adoption days, she does so with a touch of anxiety, as it may be reminiscent of the shelter setting. Unfortunately, this does little to help her find a home.
Coco is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. Coco has tested heartworm negative.
